Annual Meeting and Conference: housekeeping items

Important information about voting, asking a question, and more

To ensure a successful conference experience, please familiarize yourself with the following important housekeeping items. In the interest of time, they will not be repeated at the Annual Meeting and Conference.

Parking: Overnight guests have access to valet in and out service ($45 daily). Visitors can use the hotel parking upon availability ($26 daily/no in and out service). Nearby parking options include the Palais des congrès and the Embassy Suites Montréal.

Nearby Subway Station(s): Métro Place-d'Armes, 0.1 km N from hotel.

Nearby train station: Montréal Central Station (Gare Centrale); a 5-minute taxi ride or 12-minute walk to Le Westin Montréal.

Registration and badge pick up will open at 11:30 am ET on the 11th floor at Le Westin Montréal.

  • The in-person and virtual Annual Meeting and Conference will be recorded. Your attendance will constitute consent to potentially appear in this recording.
  • Individuals who ask questions will be identified in the minutes of the Annual Meeting.
  • The recording will be available on our website in early September.

Members may use their mobile device to access supporting materials on the CMPA website and to ask questions using Slido. Please ensure your device is on mute or do not disturb during the event.

  • Voting on motions will be done by a show of hands.
  • As per the CMPA’s By-law, only members attending in person with active membership on August 14 are permitted to move, second, and vote on motions.

  • As per the CMPA’s Bylaw, only members with active membership on August 14 are permitted to ask questions during the Annual Meeting and Conference.
  • Members may proceed to a microphone in the room or submit a question via Slido on their mobile devices.
  • Members can access Slido by scanning the QR code on the back of their name badges.
  • To sign in to Slido, enter your language preference, email, full name and province, check the legal disclaimer box and, lastly, click on the "Connexion/Join" button.
  • To submit a question, click the area labelled "Type your question." Enter your questions/comments and click "Send." The questions will be monitored onsite and may be asked by the moderator on your behalf.

  • The majority of the event will be conducted in French with simultaneous interpretation in English.
  • All attendees will have access to simultaneous interpretation for the Annual Meeting and Conference.
  • Headsets will be available on seats in the conference room.
  • English members will need to put their headsets on to hear English translations when French is being spoken, and vice-versa.
  • Unilingual attendees are encouraged to wear headsets at all times to hear the presentation in the language of their choice.

For your privacy and convenience, the dedicated infant care and nursing room is in the Le Moyne room located on the 8th floor at Le Westin Montréal.
