Dr. Holowaty is a primary care physician from Havelock, Ontario. She brings a wealth of experience as a full-scope rural family physician delivering care within her community of approximately 3,000 people.
Dr. Holowaty has a diverse range of specialized clinical skills and is actively involved in life-long learning. Dr. Holowaty completed a PhD in Molecular Virology (2004), a Master’s Degree in Palliative Care (2020), she is a Diplomate of the Canadian Academy of Pain Management, and has her Certificate of Added Competence in Addiction Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
She has dedicated much of her career to teaching and supervising learners interested in addiction medicine electives and presenting nationally in the areas of addiction medicine and pain management for family physicians. She has demonstrated her leadership skills having sat on the Board of the Ontario Medical Association, the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada, and is current co-chair of the Ontario College of Family Physicians Mentoring Implementation Group and current chair of the CFPC Addiction Medicine Member Interest Group.
