Dr. Alexander Barron practices at SickKids Hospital and St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Queen’s University (MSc), Western University (MBA) and Harvard Medical School, Dr. Barron completed his fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology in Toronto.
He is a board member of Ontario Health, where he serves on the Finance and Audit, and Quality and Engagement Committees. He is also a senior population health advisor at The Better Outcomes Registry and Network (BORN).
An advisor to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), Dr. Barron was deployed to Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, in 2010.
He is a recipient of numerous awards including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, and the Medallion for Excellence in Service to the Canadian Armed Forces Health Services Group.
In 2018, Dr. Barron founded the Step Forward Foundation, an NGO that provides clean water, education, and health care to Indigenous children.
