Dr. Fahimy Saoud is a family medicine physician with over 26 years’ experience in healthcare, including 12 years in Canada. She offers an international perspective through the considerable knowledge she has gained from her own experiences as an international medical graduate (IMG) and in teaching in a clinic supervising other IMGs.
Dr. Saoud is a member of the Council of Physicians, Dentists and Pharmacists (CPDP) at Lachine Hospital, which is part of the McGill University Health Centre. She has deep understanding and knowledge of the health issues facing new landed immigrants, asylum seekers and other vulnerable segments of the population. She is a volunteer with La Maison d’Haiti providing social and medical assistance to visible minorities and refugees. Dr. Saoud is also a file reviewer for the Black Candidate Pathway of Medicine Admission at McGill University.
The CMPA Nominating Committee values Dr. Saoud’s diverse work experiences in many communities and remote areas throughout Québec, her leadership and mentoring roles, as well as her deep understanding in the area of diversity, equity and inclusion.
