The CMPA draws on its extensive expertise to provide members with timely, relevant professional development opportunities on medical-legal and patient safety topics.
The CMPA supports members through articles and publications such as CMPA Perspective magazine, and education and training products and events such as conferences and symposia, eLearning, and the Good Practices Guide. The CMPA has one of the largest accredited continuing professional development (CPD) programs in Canada.
Because healthcare is continuously changing and adapting, our research and policy teams monitor emerging issues and look for trends that can impact physicians' practices and their medical-legal risk. Our research and education activities are often conducted in collaboration with other organizations who share our commitment to improve the safety of care. CMPA research and analysis also helps many healthcare organizations to develop their own educational programs and establish guidelines relevant to their organizations.
