Dr. Wayne Rosen is a practising colorectal surgeon at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary, Alberta. A graduate of Queen's School of Medicine, Dr. Rosen completed his general surgical training in Calgary and colorectal training in Houston, Texas. He is a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Calgary.

In addition to playing an active role in the training of surgical residents, Dr. Rosen is the chair of the undergraduate medical skills course (since 2011) and co-chair of the bioethics course (since 2005) at the Cumming School of Medicine in Calgary. He has received numerous teaching awards in his role as an educator.

Dr. Rosen’s involvement in bioethics is extensive. He has presented nationally and internationally on numerous bioethical topics. In 2019, he co-authored the 4th edition of the popular bioethics textbook, Doing Right: A Practical Guide to Ethics for Medical Trainees and Physicians, with Dr. Philip Hebert.
