Jacques Bouchard

Dr. Jacques Bouchard has been practising family medicine in La Malbaie, Québec, for over 35 years. A graduate of Université Laval, Dr. Bouchard works in La Malbaie’s Family Medical Clinic. He also practises at the Hôpital de La Malbaie, where he provides inpatient care and works as a consultant in the allergy and respiratory physiology laboratory. Additionally, he actively participates in hospital rounds and sees elderly patients in long-term care facilities. He also offers home care support.

Dr. Bouchard is an associate professor of clinical medicine at the Université Laval and is involved in the Fédération des médecins omnipracticiens du Québec (FMOQ), where he plays an active role in continuing medical education. In 2023, he was awarded the Prix Gilles-des Rosiers by the FMOQ for his exemplary contribution to the professional development of family physicians.

In addition, Dr. Bouchard received in 2017 the Award of Excellence from the College of Family Physicians of Canada for his contributions in rural regions, and he was awarded the Fellowship designation from the same College in November 2024. He is one of the founders of the Réseau québécois d’éducation en santé respiratoire (RQESR), where he still plays an active role. For the past 7 years, Dr. Bouchard has been editor-in-chief of European Medical Journal: Allergy & Immunology. In 2025, he was appointed to the Order of Canada by the Governor General of Canada for his exemplary contribution to medical training and his support for patient education.
