Important information about voting, asking a question, and more

To ensure a successful meeting experience, please familiarize yourself with the following items. In the interest of time, they generally will not be repeated at the Annual Meeting.

In-person attendees

Valet parking is available at a rate of $55.00 per day, in/out privileges are available and covered parking is available as well. Self-parking is not available.

Registration and badge pick up will be open from 12:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. ET in the Varley room at the Hilton Toronto.

  • The Annual Meeting will be recorded. Your attendance will constitute consent to potentially appear in this recording.
  • The recording will be available on our website in September.

As per the CMPA’s By-law, only members with active membership on August 20 are permitted to vote on motions.

  • Voting will be done using the keypad and keycard provided at the Registration desk. Instructions for using the keypad and keycard will be available at the venue.
  • Once the motion has been moved and seconded, the Chair will ask for comments. Use the microphone in the room to provide comments.
  • Once the discussion portion has concluded, the Chair will call for voting to begin. Please vote to Approve, Do not approve, or Abstain on your keypad.
  • The Chair will advise when the voting is near to closing.

  • As per the CMPA’s Bylaw, only members with active membership on August 20 are permitted to ask questions on matters of CMPA business.
  • Members can use a microphone in the room and should identify themselves with their name and province or territory.
  • Individuals who ask questions will be identified in the minutes of the Annual Meeting.

Virtual attendees

  • Individuals who ask questions will be identified in the minutes of the Annual Meeting, which will be posted to the CMPA website.

As per the CMPA’s By-law, only members with active membership on August 20 are permitted to vote on motions.

  • The motion will be displayed.
  • We will first seek a mover and a seconder: click the Messaging link on your screen to select Move or Second, and submit.
  • The Chair will ask for comments: click the Messaging link, select Ask a question, and follow the prompts.
  • Once the discussion portion has concluded, the Chair will call for voting to begin: click the Voting link on the left side of your screen and select to Approve, Do not approve, or Abstain.
  • The Chair will advise when the voting is near to closing.
