Dr. Jacques Bouchard has been practising family medicine in La Malbaie, Québec, for over 30 years. A graduate of Université Laval, Dr. Bouchard currently works in La Malbaie’s Family Medical Clinic. He also practises at the Hôpital de La Malbaie, where he provides inpatient care and also works as a consultant in the allergy and respiratory physiology laboratory. Additionally, he actively participates in hospital rounds and sees elderly patients in long-term care facilities (CHSLD), besides making home visits to support patients.
Dr. Bouchard is an associate professor of clinical medicine at the Université Laval and active in the Fédération des médecins omnipracticiens du Québec (FMOQ), where he plays an active role in continuing medical education. Dr. Bouchard is also the head of the Département régional de médecine générale (Québec region) and a vice-chair of the Family Physician Airways Group of Canada.
In 2017, Dr. Bouchard received the Award of Excellence from the College of Family Physicians of Canada for his contributions in rural regions. He is one of the founders of the Réseau québécois d’éducation en santé respiratoire, where he still plays an active role. For the past 5 years, Dr. Bouchard has been proud to be editor-in-chief of EMJ Allergy & Immunology.
