Dr. Clover Hemans is a graduate of McMaster University’s Medical School and Family Medicine Residency. She is also a graduate of the University of Toronto with an undergraduate degree in Nursing, and a Master of Science in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. She has worked in the Halton Region for many years. Other roles include past president of the Federation of Medical Women of Canada, chair of the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) Women Committee past board member of the Section of General and Family Medicine (SGFP) at the OMA, a member of the OMA Audit and Finance Committee, and member of the Civility, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee.
Dr. Hemans writes and speaks about women in medicine, women and medical leadership, equity, diversity, inclusion, intersectionality, career advancement, and humanity in medical care. She is a recipient of the 2021 Canadian Women in Medicine Inspiring Women Physicians Award, the 2022 Federation of Medical Women of Canada Dr. May Cohen Award, and the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2024.
