Dr. François Mercier is a family physician who practices full time general medicine in the Pointe-aux-Trembles borough of the city of Montreal. For the past 10 years, he has been the medical director of the FMG and the CHSLD in that city of 60,000 inhabitants. Dr. Mercier received his doctorate in medicine in 1982 from the Université Laval.
Dr. Mercier is co-lead of clinical mentorship for second-year medical students at the Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal and is the General Medicine representative for continuing professional development at the Université de Montréal.
Dr. Mercier has a particular interest in the academic training of the new generation of physicians as well as in geriatric and end-of-life care.
