Dr. Katy Shufelt is an interventional cardiologist practising in Peterborough, Ontario. She is an alumnus of University of Ottawa medical school, University of Toronto residency program and McMaster University interventional cardiology fellowship. She is part of a dedicated team of three interventional cardiologists who provide services to the large geographical area served by Peterborough Regional Health Centre.She has special interests in quality care initiatives and complex coronary angioplasty.
Dr. Shufelt supervises residents as an assistant professor in the department of family medicine at Queen’s University, and serves on the Royal College AFC subcommittee for Adult Interventional Cardiology.
Dr. Shufelt is proud to have the trust of Ontario physicians in her second term as a CMPA Councillor. This work allows her to extend her interests in a leadership role to ensure Canadian physicians have a strong organization to support their medical-legal needs and ability to provide safe medical care.
