Dr. Victor F. Huckell is a cardiologist practising in Vancouver. As a graduate of the University of British Columbia (UBC), he completed his residency in Vancouver and Toronto following a stint as a primary care physician.
Dr. Huckell has served on multiple national organizations, including as president of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Academy and chair of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada’s cardiology committee. He has received numerous awards in the education arena including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Currently a clinical professor at the UBC’s department of medicine, Dr. Huckell has mentored over 675 residents and 428 medical students from 25 countries. He has delivered more than 2,200 presentations on cardiology and patterns of practice and has co-authored 4 national practice guidelines, 56 peer-reviewed articles, 68 abstracts, and 2 textbook chapters.
Dr. Huckell has an interest and skills in knowledge translation and development, and the delivery of education programs optimizing patterns of practice.
