Member Support Program

The Member Support Program offers individualized support to members who may be at increased risk of, or experiencing more frequent, medico-legal events. The program helps members reduce medico-legal risk while supporting their well-being.

Who will benefit from the program?

CMPA developed the Member Support Program to further enhance its assistance to members, including those who have a pattern of recurring or increasing frequency of medico-legal events.

What can you expect from the program?

The Member Support Program works with members to:

  • recognize factors that may be contributing to their medico-legal risk
  • identify practical strategies to decrease the likelihood of future medico-legal events
  • support physician well-being

How does the program work?

We recognize that every member and practice is unique. We work with members to understand the circumstances and factors that may be contributing to their medico-legal experiences.

Once a member is identified for the program, here’s what they can expect:

  1. Assessment: The Member Support Program (MSP) team reviews each member’s medico-legal history.
  2. Individualized support plan: A Physician Advisor (PA) from the MSP team works with the member to develop a plan that addresses factors that may be contributing to their medico-legal risk.
  3. Ongoing support: The MSP PA provides follow-up and support to help the member make their practice safer and reduce the likelihood of future medico-legal events.
