Informed consent and capacity assessments for patient-centered care

Informed consent is an ethical and legal requirement that ensures patients’ freedom to agree to undergo a given procedure or treatment. Physicians play an important role in helping patients understand both diagnosis and the available treatment options. This webinar outlines the key elements of informed consent, the complexities surrounding capacity assessments, and essential medico-legal considerations for obtaining consent for physicians.
