Effective Team Interactions
Overview: interactive multi-session course
The Effective Team Interactions course is designed to enhance the foundational Electronic Learning Activities (see list below), offering hands-on techniques for fostering productive communication within teams. Participants will be equipped with skills that ensure clearer interactions between healthcare colleagues to reduce risk and improve patient safety.

- Session 1: Elements of an effective team: teamwork, psychological safety, civility and trust
- Session 2: Communication styles and tools
Learning objectives
- Explain how the attributes of effective teams contribute to reliable patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate effective use of one structured communication tool to share information accurately, clearly, and efficiently within a healthcare team.
- Demonstrate assertive communication approaches for addressing healthcare safety concerns.
Credits
This activity meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Quebec College of Family Physicians, a continuing professional development accrediting organization recognized by the Collège des Médecins du Québec and has been approved for up to 3.25 Mainpro+® Certified Assessment Activity credits.
This activity is an Accredited Self-Assessment Program (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by CMPA. You may claim a maximum of 3.25 hours (credits are automatically calculated).

NOTE: This is a two-part workshop with 45 minutes of prerequisite eLearning activities. Participants must be available on both dates to complete the workshop for a total of 3 hours of synchronous learning time.
