Candidate statement
There are many challenges for the Canadian heath care system at present .The CMPA is not one of them. Despite the changing dynamic of the doctor patient relationship, electronic media, significant alterations in the patient demographic, the welcoming of many new doctors to this country, the CMPA has adjusted appropriately to these challenges and to many others.
How can I assist the Directors of the CMPA :
I have been an expert witness and advisor to the Lawyers for the CMPA for over thirty years.
As an associate professor of surgery I performed research through out my career.
I have taught surgery to all levels to learners from many different countries and cultures. My practice has included performing surgery in eight countries and I have witnessed how issues are dealt with abroad.
Having been head of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery as well as Liver Transplantation, I was able to solve problems and to manage people from multiple disciplines.
I have owned and operated a construction company, a lumber company and have hired people of diverse back grounds. I am a major supporter of the CMPA . It continues to be one the few organizations that truly supports doctors in Canada. It is my turn to give back. I hope to support the CMPA and the doctors of this country.
