Candidate statement

Why would I want to return to CMPA Council? In short, to help ensure and advance the organization’s mission such that the CMPA remains a jewel in our complex Canadian healthcare system. Although our fees are low, our brand and bargaining position strong, the organization is well-managed and in good financial stead, it puts the interests of its members first, and offers a vast value proposition, there is always room to move the needle.

My past educational, clinical, academic and leadership roles and experiences at the University, Health Authority, College, CMPA, and at various professional organizations have positioned me well for ongoing contribution and value creation to the governance of the CMPA. A representative and diverse council is critical to good governance, corporate accountability, ensuring the strategic direction of the organization is member-focused and organizational deliverables are being met. CMPA Councilors owe this to our members and to the organization. To this end, good governance is best attained via those with skills and experiences in these domains. I’d be humbled and honoured to be elected by the membership for this service.
