Dr. Katy Shufelt is an interventional cardiologist who practises in a regional hospital with a broad rural catchment area. She has unique insight into the challenges of coordinating high-risk care between urban and rural settings. She contributes to medical education through her roles as adjunct assistant professor in the Queen's Family Medicine residency program and honorary associate professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Trent University.
The Nominating Committee values the leadership she brings to CMPA as its 1st Vice-President of Council, and the financial and business acumen demonstrated in her role as Chair of the Audit Committee.
