Dr. Katy Shufelt is an interventional cardiologist who practises in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Dr. Shufelt has been actively involved in research as an investigator in several large international trials and in teaching in the Queen's Family Medicine residency program (Adjunct Assistant Professor) and the Trent University Department of Biomedical Sciences (Honorary Associate Professor). Dr. Shufelt leverages her strength in communication and teamwork in her commitment to supporting physician members, CMPA governance and improving safe medical care.
The Nominating Committee values the leadership she provides to the CMPA as its 2nd Vice-President of Council, as well as her experiences in a high-risk specialty practice in a smaller community.
