CMPA is committed to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). This commitment extends beyond our organization, our Council, and our members, and includes increasing access to education opportunities within the medical community for individuals of equity-deserving groups.
To support this goal, CMPA has established the Equity Scholarship to assist physicians and physician trainees who are currently training or practicing in Canada, who self-identify as Black, Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis) or racialized, to participate in national medical conferences across Canada.
This scholarship recognizes the systemic barriers and socioeconomic challenges that underrepresented individuals may face. By reducing financial barriers to conference participation, CMPA aims to foster greater inclusion, amplify diverse voices, and promote the exchange of knowledge within healthcare.
About the CMPA Equity Scholarship
- The scholarship covers individual conference registration fees only (any registration category)
- Expenses such as travel, accommodations, meals, and incidentals, are not included.
- A selection panel will assess each application based on financial need and the strength of the submitted application package.
